Finishing the spindles

The spindles now need to be cut to length, and finished. They need a 1/2" tenon on the bottom where they go into the seat, and a 3/8" tenon on the top where they pass thru the bow. The rest of the spindle needs to have the facets (they are currently octagonal) faired into a smooth round shape.

I use tenon cutters in my lathe to size the 3/8" and 1/2" diameter spindle tenons

All work is done at the shavehorse

The center spindle gets a shoulder where it meets the bow

I somehow neglected to take more spindle finishing pictures, they will show up next having been mostly fitted to the seat and the bow and rounded.
