We now proceed to carving the underside of the chair. This is all for aesthetics, but it's worth it. It produces a beautiful sinuous shape that is very pleasing to the eye. This also happens to have the hardest piece of carving in the whole process.

Again with the facets... :)
The facets are supposed to go just inside the template line on the bottom to just inside the front edge. All of the heavy cuts are done with drawknives.




Switch to the spokeshave, to fair the curves


Pretty nice so far, but not done.  Carving the hard part is left...
